Nanny David, from the mouths of Babes and Sucklings.
Synopsis and sample chapters
Uncle David arrives to look after 2 boisterous children, their Father, two greedy cats an ancient dog and a large old house. Nanny David will be running the household while the children's Mother is abroad.
From the fevered bedside vigil to the playground Mafia, Uncle David will struggle with exhaustion, frustration and isolation in a way that he scarcely thought possible. He will struggle with twelve hour days seven days a week. Filthy bathrooms and fussy teachers will fill his days. He will encounter and learn to deal with playground politics, sexy Moms and suspicious Dads. He will sweat in the kitchen for children that would rather starve than cut the new guy a break.
The children also have an ally, their martyred Dad, the biggest baby of all. The other infant! He works 9 to 5, oh, and sometimes, he mows the grass. The trouble is he expects one hell of a lot in return!
Will Uncle David survive with his sanity intact? Not a chance, but he does gain an amazing insight into the life of a modern working Mom. For the first time he will see and appreciate what it means to be a woman in the Twenty First century.
Never again will he regard man as the dominant species on Earth. Men teeter on the edge of redundancy, women have, almost, learned to cope without them. They just haven't realised it yet!
Now he knows the dreadful truth, the female of the species, is more capable than the male.
